Last night we had leftovers, and I microwaved everything, except the gravy. I thought of this thread and wondered how often I use that microwave. I will say that if I was cooking for just me and my husband, I wouldn't have microwaved the leftovers, I would have thrown them in with the gravy to warm it. But, my daughter didn't want gravy, so I just did them all in the microwave.

ROFL - come on. I have never thought of you as a dumb person, but that was a pretty dumb-ass move. I hate when I have that kind of brain fart. The good news is, now you will have a sparkly clean oven - it might take you hours and hours, but you have to get that crap out of there.

Ok, that sucks, but it is kind of funny I also do my bacon that way (but with the bottom of the pan ), turns out perfect every time.

I do leftovers, but I'm not a huge fan. If it is something that doesn't have a sauce, I would rather steam the leftovers, which keeps the moisture in. Like, we had leftover bratwurst after a party. The ones out of the microwave were dry, but the ones that were steamed were hot all the way through and moist. Same with steak - put it in the steamer and it is much less like shoe leather. If it has a sauce, I find that it splatters all over the microwave. I try and cover it with a wet paper towel or something, and then sometimes that all sticks together. I find throwing it in a pan is just as much effort, and I get a more even heat. I will say that my husband is more apt to microwave leftovers than I am. I might find that if we didn't have a microwave that I would find out I use it more than I think I do, but it seems to take up a lot of space comparatively to the amount of perceived value. I've thought that for years, yet I haven't given it away - so deep down inside, I know it brings me some value. Try using wax paper instead of a paper towel when you reheat things in the microwave. It won't stick to the food or soak up the sauce but it will prevent splatter.

I do the paper towel to add moisture. I usually wet it and throw it over the top of the bowl. It adds a little moisture, or at least prevents the escape of even more moisture.

I read that and got a pain down my left arm. I think I'm having a heart attack.
