I had a smart phone (Droid), but I returned it. I had 30 days to return it and hadn't figured it out by day 28, so back it went. I am now using the phone I understand and my monthly bill is $20 cheaper. i liked that verizon had online tutorials for mine because it didn't come with anything more than a quick start guide.. haha

I just got my first cell phone ever. It's a Palm Pre plus. It's like an iPhone and a Blackberry had a baby. I was able to activate it, set my voicemail and ringtone settings, take pictures, text, and synch my email. Now I just have to remember to carry it around.

My wife loves her iPhone, but she's much more a techno-geek than I am. I resisted for years even getting a basic cell phone.

verizon just started carrying the iPhone.. but the droid X has a larger viewable screen.. so that's part of why i chose my droid .. but i'm also an "i-hater" on principle so i wouldn't have gotten an iPhone regardless..
i find myself using it more and more to check in here when i'm out for longer than a couple of hours...

It was a tough choice for her to get the iPhone when she did, we hate AT & T with a passion.

I have a Cliq, which is an android smartphone. I've had it for a little over a year, and I love it! I'm somewhat "guy-ish" in that I hate to stop and ask for directions, so I love the Google maps feature. I love being able to check my email anytime I want, I love being able to stream Pandora and put on my headphones and tune out people at work, and I love being able to play solitaire when I'm bored.

Tuesday I'll be getting the HTC Incredible. I was tempted to get the Droid X, but it was just too big for my taste.

I've gone online to find out what it would cost for us to upgrade our plan. Up until now, neither TD nor I have had no need for a smart phone, even though it did call to me briefly a few months ago and I resisted. I have our cell phone plan through work that gives me a discount, but it would still wind up costing us a combined $100 more/mo than we currently pay and I'm not sure I want to be that tied down to my email either. We'd be going with the Droid option, if we did.
I guess we'll see how the iTouch works for TD and revisit this later.....

I'm in the market for an upgrade. Current pocket pc is having "issues". I know what phone I want but at purchase I'm not able to say "bill me". So that's when I started reading the reviews. WOW they are horrible!! don't buy this phone and worst phone I've ever had. even the 2 good of the 17 total reviews I read said the phone freezes, bulky, and something else. So now I may not purchase the phone... But usually I don't have problems like everyone else? are these people multi-tasking web, making purchases, several windows open, multiple aps open - then freeze?
Hmmm.....this sound like a topic to post on Your Money

&^%$%$#@# Touch
Intuitive my butt. Either that or the iTunes software is flacky. Something works once and then won't work again.

Don't get me wrong, it's nice but more of a learning curve that I would have guessed.

&^%$%$#@# Touch Intuitive my butt. Either that or the iTunes software is flacky. Something works once and then won't work again. I personally can't stand iTunes. Granted, I haven't made too much effort to figure it out, but generally mass-market computer programs are pretty intuitive to me, and that one is not at all. I've decided I'm too smart for it.

I don't like any learning curves Took me a year and several calls to a friend to figure out how the computer type home thermostat worked. I can now set a temp but can't schedule off/on times I'll be glad in the future everything is intuitive.

You just need to be smarter than the Touch, TD. Good luck with that.

DH and the other computer nerds I know prefer the Android.
Personally, for me IRL, leave a message on my land line. Then I'll know that you really want to talk to me.
