How about a green salad? You can buy a bag of salad mix, a box of cherry tomatoes, a cucumber and a couple bottles of dressing. Lite Italian and Ranch are popular dressings. Put the greens in a bowl, add the washed tomatoes and sliced cucumber on top.
Another good option is a cold rice salad. If you don't see one at the deli counter, ask if they will make one for you.
If you would rather bring a dessert, Trader Joes and Whole Foods have fabulous desserts such as cakes and tortes. Costco is also know for great cakes.

How about tabouleh? That's always very popular. I make mine with quick-cooking buckwheat, instead of bulgur wheat. Delicious.

Oh wow, just reading this thread makes me glad I no longer work in an office. I too remember the people, not just men, who would bring bags of chips. So the office would buy a ham and turkey breast and we got to eat nacho cheese Doritos, bar-b-q chips and ruffles. Then people complained because the office should have just paid for the whole dinner to be catered. Christmas: I worked at one office where the manager took us out to a place that had a breakfast bar, we came in and worked for 4 hours then had a lunch with the whole company. Catered Bar-b-q. (I'm from the south, remember?) Bar-b-q? For Christmas? Why can't they do Christmas dinner? Why can't we leave and go home? Why do we have to stay here and listen to the owner of the company speak for 15 minutes?

Weltz, someone might need a recipe for tabouleh - but it won't be me. I've never heard of it, so I'm sure I won't be cooking it. Peace - I like the salad idea - I think even I could handle that. But, I'll probably end up picking a dessert - there's an apple pie I'm particularly fond of. I'm starting to crave it now.

Waffle, it's a middle eastern parsley salad that's out of this world.

You can get the tabbouleh salad at some deli counters. Greek or Middle Eastern restaurants will sell it to you in a to go container.

That would be me. Your loss. It is super yummy, and good for you. I had it for the first time about a year ago, and now I wonder why I don't eat it every day.

I didn't know it had GREEN onions in it. I hate raw onions so I've avoided tabbouleh, but I can handle green onions. I'll have to try it the next time I hit up the salad bar at work. It's always there. you don't HAVE to add the onions. The trader joe's couscous box has a tabouleh recipe on it that I make without the onions (I sometimes put in some dried minced onion).

Ours is tomorrow and I made tuna salad plus a bunch of cherry tomatoes / mozzarella balls on toothpicks.
Now all I have to do it remember to take them out of the fridge tomorrow before I leave.
