I finally have an update. I got a call late yesterday scheduling a phone interview for this morning. I'll have an offer letter tomorrow. I was really starting to panic a little bit too. It's been like two weeks of radio silence. I sent their recruiter my resume the day I got back from the funeral and didn't even get a thanks got it type email. All we heard was that the transition period was going to be 30 days, so anyone who wasn't kept on with the new companies was only going to be employed through November 14th. Dude, you do nothing and get paid six figures. That pretty much makes you a shoo-in in the world of gov't contracting.

I won't know if I'm taking a pay cut until I get the offer letter tomorrow, but a few of the guys back east have already accepted offers and they all stayed at the same wage, so I'm hopeful. That sounds very positive. I hope you get great news tomorrow!!

Not yet. Nobody has heard anything yet today. Do you have any idea how hard it is to type with your fingers crossed for an entire day? Total bastard.

LMAO! Well good luck!
It seems like a bad sign that they are waiting for the end of day on Friday. Like they are worried about people going postal.

Right?! It's already 4 on the east coast. People are going to start freaking out if 5 rolls around and we still haven't heard anything. As of right now we all have 3.5 weeks of employment left. People are scheduling interviews, considering other offers, if we don't hear anything soon everyone will start fleeing like rats from a sinking ship.

Well, look on the bright side. You're in the right neck of the woods, so if this doesn't pan out, you can go start a social networking site for pets or something equally douchey and end up making infinity dollars.

Nope. The guy I talked to yesterday said he was going to try and get all the offer letters out today, but some might come on Monday. So, another weekend of wait and see.

That blows, I'm sorry. Hopefully they throw a few extra % in the offer letter for your troubles.

Writing offer letters are custom per person, so it is not as easy as a merge and print. I've been acquired & been an acquiree on several occasions. They never hire extra staff to do the integrations, so all the work is heaped on top of people that already had a full time job! Delays + Hurry up and wait are normal states during a conversion or integration!!

A lot is going on, but I don't have an update for myself yet.
The companies that won the contract have already requested several contract exemptions from the agency. Not a great sign. Us contractors will probably never find out what they were asking for, but I heard through somebody I know at the agency that the agency went to the other companies that were bidding on the job and asked if they wanted to contest the contract award. I guess they're having second thoughts about accepting a low ball bid from a small company that some of us doubt will ever be able to meet the contract.
Anyway, the guy I talked to on Thursday who's the transition manager for company X said myself and one of my team members was going to get an offer letter on Friday or Today. It was a done deal. Today I still haven't heard anything, but my team member got an offer letter from company Y instead. So, I don't know what happened on Thursday/Friday, but clearly the two companies are still settling on who gets which parts of the contract.
I'm going to start making some calls to the recruiter at company Y and transition manager at X to see if I still have an offer letter coming.
