My DH requires that I be specific when answering him, so I do try: DH askes: Do you know what time it is? My reply: yes He gets really irritated, but I tell him, you didn't ask me what time it is, you asked if I knew. Once would be funny. Doing this on a regular basis would be irritating.

Do your husbands cut firewood, cut the grass , maintain your vehicle maintain all equipment for home and work, Paint , power wash the home driveway sidewalk. Clean the windows, drain the hot tub, trim trees . Feed the animals , plant garden , landscape , repair electricial Do the plumbing , install fence line , cook, AND WORK? I think I would just throw the shit in the washer too add some bleach , never be asked to do it again. I think the general answer would be No. My XH and I both worked at AT&T years ago both as Members of Technical Staff. Firewood - No, we didn't have a fireplace Grass - Yes, when we lived together. I did myself in my last home. Paint, Powerwash, Windows, Hot tub - Not applicable or not done by either of us Landscape and Garden - Mostly me except XH was great and rototilled the beds I laid out so they were somewhat usable in our house, my 1st house. Electrical, Plumbing - Most hired out, XH probably did more of the rest than I did but we are both well-versed in old toliet mechanics. Fence - Not applicable, we had hedges which we both probably trimmed. Cook - Mostly me, but he liked to man the grill if I marinated or prepared stuff for grilling. Laundry - Almost solely me because I can be anal about laundry when I own the machines. Vehicle - Never had anyone except my Dad do work on cars. Do not understand the 'My husband puts gas in the car' logistics either. Pumped my own gas since age 16. NJ doesn't allow it. Wouldn't mind if my next DH likes to be a mechanic though. ETA: Reading Blonde Granny's post I realize I forgot a couple. Feed animals - Me Deal with wild animals - Me or professionals if I couldn't handle it.

Whenever I see these threads, I tell myself I should really be nicer to DH, since I do almost all the annoying things listed

Just because I love the guy doesn't mean I have to love every single annoying habit he has. I have zillions of them myself that if DH was on the boards i am sure he would to share. But that would mean having to figure out how to use a computer without banging on it like a neanderthal.

When my H puts away clean laundry he pulls one item at a time out of the hamper and puts it away. Then he pulls out the next item. And puts that away. It's INSAAAAAAAANE. It takes forever. And it drives me absolutely nuts! The fastest and most efficient way is to sort it all at once - undies in one pile, pants in another, clothes to hang up in third, etc. But no, one pair of undies, in the drawer.... one shirt, go to closet, go get hanger, hang up, get one pair of shorts... UGH!

When my wife does laundry she combines towels with clothes... So dark towels with the dark loads and light towels with the light load. Drives me nuts. Towels should all be combined in their own load.

So you would put the dark red or blue towels in with the white ones? My washing machine is a front loader that can't be filled half way without wecking it's balance, so I have to do a full load every time. I would rather put the dark towels in with the dark clothes than with the white ones.

If there are too many for one load then they can get separated into darks and lights. Towels should not be laundered with clothes.

Towels go with jeans if you don't have a full load.

Holy moly. I don't separate any of our clothes. Not even whites as I quit using bleach a few years ago. Everything is washed in cold (the auto setting on my washer) and dried on hot (the auto setting on dryer). I never have problems with running colors or lint.

I'll throw a towel in with clothes sometimes, it's never caused any problems. What's with all the towel segregation??

Towels seem to be harder on other clothes and a real bugger to dry.

I pull out towels and that's it. Laundry isn't rocket science. What does that mean? I put the towels in a separate load... mostly because I dry them at a higher temp. Otherwise everything would go in the same load.

Seriously. oh, I'm sure they'll try to claim that the towels are "separate but equal", but we all know what's really going on here.
