not going away any time soon I believe - with aging populations.

I believe that all have a solid track record of dividend payments

There was a reason for that PFE slash. Not saying it was a good one.

Like General Electric, Pfizer ( PFE: 20.04*, -0.14, -0.69% ) slashed its dividend before recently raising it, but it did so to afford a giant acquisition – that of rival Wyeth for $68 billion in 2009. Quarterly payments fell from 32 cents a share to 16 cents, then rose to 18 cents earlier this year and will soon increase to 20 cents a share. That puts the new dividend yield at 4.6%. Pfizer's earnings are expected to rise slightly next year on cost-cutting. Trial results for stroke and arthritis drugs in development could provide a boost. Shares sell for just eight times earnings, a reflection of the industry-wide challenge of looming patent expirations on top-selling drugs.
