I live at a lower elevation than sesfw, I can have frost on my grass 2 months out of the year. I have customers at higher elevations here that do freeze exposed copper tubing on real cold (for here) nights.

All things considered, it was a nice day today. The sun was shining and there wasn't a bitter cold wind blowing. But it gets so darn cold, so fast, as soon as the sun starts going down. -At least it was sunny!

Pretty much perfect for the time of the year: mid 60s during the day, low 40s during the night and no rain in sight for the next 7 days

It is not about today's weather. Check your weather for next week from Tuesday through Friday based on where you live. Tuesday through Thursday for Midwest, Wednesday through Friday for east coast. If you thought you had cold weather a week ago, most will be rudely awakened next week. Florida is escaping relatively easy

Your weather is menopausal?!? Is that undecided and constantly changing, yet always severe? Sounds horrid. Glad it wasn't an issue for me. Perhaps I will get to experience this later, when it makes no sense, so everyone just says I'm a bitch. <sigh> On the other hand, maybe that's what they say now! hahaha... Assholes!

So glad we are shivering in Florida this week rather than in the midwest! www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/polar-vortex-to-drive-record-smashing-cold-across-much-of-nation/ar-BBSQqeCOur home in Indiana is facing a high of minus 13 on Wednesday with a low of minus 22 degrees with windchill of minus 45 degrees. If anyone wants "anything diet" to drink, go and buy it now because companies do not deliver anything diet in these temps, and will probably withhold deliveries of anything liquid for a day or two. Milk might be frosty in the case too! Eggs will have delivery issues and store delivered bread will be flash frozen! LOL

My company and everyone I have spoken with at other companies has shut down operations in Northern IL tomorrow for the first time in many, many years.
Our low forecast for the next couple days is -27 with a wind chill factor in the negative mid 50’s.

checked the temperature back in Indiana just now. 7 degrees with a minus 23 degree windchill already.
Sitting here and it is 64 degrees and sunny. I remember freezing my ass off at work for years and having to go out with subzero temps and frozen doors, and a heater that never warmed up until about a block from home......

Boise isn't getting any of the cold stuff. We are Highs of 40-50 F and lows of 19-35 F for the next week. It has been the same weather for weeks, but I'm not complaining. Hope it stays this way until spring.
Stay warm everyone.

We had a few sprinkles this morning. Fortunately that cleared up and at lunch time it was sunny and mid 60s. Quite nice if I may say so...

Minus 18 degrees and windchill of 46 below right now back home in Indiana. I cannot comprehend how hard it is to stay warm there today. I know we had temperature this low years ago, but I do not think the windchill was this serious. Beginning to wonder how brittle the electric lines might become today with wind speeds being high.
