What's Up Doc. I just can't seem to get into it. I haven't even watched it in it's entirety because I just can't get through it! But I love Funny Girl!

Ugh No Country for Old Men was another boring movie. I don't know how half these movies win Oscars.

I wouldn't say they're necessarily good but I always enjoy the comedic style of pretty much every Mel Brooks movie.

How Bout a good movie? Anyone ever see SECOND HAND LIONS? Great actors. I love that movie. Its not great but the Robert Duvall and Michael Caine characters were just so darn enjoyable to watch. I watch movies for the entertainment value and since I'm a bit warped, what entertains me is usually stupid to others. I love to watch a lot of the bad movies on SyFy simply because they are so corny. I like action movies because they are usually unrealistic and I can make fun of that. If a movie is to serious or intellectual, I'm not going to like it. Same with frat boy humor - not my thing but my BF loves those movies. Oh and as for the necklace in Titanic, I always looked at it as being Rose's security all those years. As long as she had that, she was going to be ok. And when she tossed it at the end, it was because she ready to die and "be with Jack again" and therefore no longer needed it. And keeping it was always a big screw you to Cal and the life she left behind. But for the most part, I liked the movie and now that I've seen it to many times, like to nitpick when I watch it.

DH and I saw Titanic on our very first date - we were 14 ;D. DH would never admit it (and would kill me for posting this) but he'll watch it if it's on TV. Not sure if it's nostalgia or he actually enjoys the movie. Refused to go see it with me in 3D when it was rereleased, though

Awww.....that's cute, mid!
I am glad to see that I am not the only one who found Dirty Dancing and Titanic big meh's. I am probably going to be flamed for this, but I also think The Notebook was only OK.

I've never even seen or read The Notebook. I don't get the hysteria behind it.

I think it's a nice premise: Alzheimer patient's DH reads their love story to her. And I liked it....it just didn't blow me away.

The Royal Tenenbaums. I only saw an hour and I wanted to claw my eyes out.

Avatar and Kramer vs. Kramer. I found them both extremely boring.

I found Avatar kinda boring but the effects were amazing. Definetly worth seeing in the theatre for that, but I won't watch it when it is on TV. I didn't like it enough to watch it over and over.

Avatar loses its effect on regular tv. I'm glad I saw it in IMAX though.

I saw it in a theatre - but not 3d or whatever the "special" version was. I still thought it was awful.

I've never even seen or read The Notebook. I don't get the hysteria behind it. The Notebook! It was on TV last night and I had it on. DH said that I could turn it on, but I declined as he would be bored to tears. One of my friend's DH doesn't like the movie my friend loves it! She cries everytime during the sad parts. Granted, I only teared up the 1st time, but haven't since then. FWIW, I've read the book and seen the movie. There is a sequel to the book, which is also good.

I first saw What's Up Doc? in a theater and laughed so hard my sides hurt. Much, much later I watched a repeat of it and couldn't remember why it had been so funny the first time. Loved Funny Girl. But I like most (if not all) of her movies..... Have never "gotten" Monty Python nor most Mel Brooks humor (with the possible exception of Blazing Saddles. Titanic (the recent one) was just dreadful. "A Night to Remember" ,though, still makes me tear up.

Ugh...trying to watch Dirty Dancing right now. I don't why we made such a big deal of it growing up; worst acting ever I made DH watch it a month or two ago. ;D He'd never seen it. He was busting up because so many cartoons and other things started to make sense, the movie has been satirized so often. Darko I just didn't enjoy. I like sci-fi but it was boring to me.

Lars and the Real Girl I'm a huge Ryan Gosling fan; however, I only made it through 20 minutes of the show before I turned it off and deleted it from my DVR. I had NO desire to watch the rest of it.

I loved the Hangover Movies but did not find the humor of Bridesmaids at all. Everyone kept raving about it being so funny so we watched it one night. It was terrible, not at all funny. It's been a few months and the Boys are still teasing me for picking out that movie.

I love, love, love Monty Python movies. I honestly don't think I've ever seen one although my daughter said the one she saw was funny. For me, Mel Brooks is hit or miss. I was 11 or 12 when I saw History of the World, Part I so I didn't get all the jokes. And it was 2 or 3 times of seeing Men in Tights to really appreciate the humor in that one although my girls have always loved it. I always like reading those lists of movies to see before you die. They always have something that is supposed to be great because it was socially relevant or something like that. And more often than not, I'm shaking my head asking "how? the movie sucked".

I agree on Shakespeare in Love and Titanic. I would add to the list: AI Blair Witch Project Kill Bill (both movies) and any Coen Brothers movie (no, I haven't seen their True Grit remake, but as someone who loves the original and can't stand the Coen brothers, I doubt I'd like it) Star Wars prequels (with the exception of the opening scene of episode 1 where we see Ewan MacGregor and Liam Neeson fighting through droids and saying "I have a bad feeling about this". I LOVE that scene.) Odd numbered Star Trek movies - especially Generations (but without the odd numbered ones, we wouldn't have the even numbered ones) Any Woody Allen movie

I loved AI. It was so sad. And no Kill Bill, Pulp Fiction or any QT movie. I don't have the stomach for them.
