"E.T." was a kiddie movie. It was pretty good for a feel-good movie that the whole family could enjoy. Of course, it's famous because Spielberg directed it. Otherwise, it would have faded into oblivion.
I watched "Breaking Dawn, Pt. 1" last night. I really think Red Box should refund my 76 cents because Kristen Stewart is that bad.

IMHO Edward Scissorhands is the worst movie ever.
And even though my wife loves it and I've seen it several times with her, I just can't seem to get overly excited about The Shawshank Redemption.

Benjamin Button . Snore-fest extraordinaire. They should have cut out half of it.

I agree with Benjamin Button. I would also add Revolutionary Road; I literally had to say out loud "2 hours of my life I'll never get back."

Thats all you pay? It is $1.27 here. And I thought that was cheap. Now I know we are being ripped off...

I'm not really into the medieval/science fiction genres (except for the REALLY bad Syfy movies - e.g. Mega Shark v. Giant Octopus), so take my 'meh' movies for what they're worth.
Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter (all), Star Wars (all). Didn't like The Matrix or the second one. Also didn't like the Shining, although it was one of the more accurate adaptations of a King book. Or the Jason Bourne movies.

There was a coupon promotion (50 cents off), which is what prompted me to rent it in the first place.

Cleopatra with Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor. Famous because the two of them were in it. But corny and bad then, and not any better as the years have passed. What saved the studio that made it from becoming totally bankrupt as a result of making this film is the fact that Burton and Taylor became Burton and Taylor during the filming of the movie, and their love affair and marriage became world headlines. People went to the movie because of them, not because the movie was worthy.

The movie itself was not good.

Benjamin Button was a snoozefest. I refuse to watch Twilight anything.
The newest Catwoman that came out a couple years ago was awful. I returned it the second it was over. My then bf and I contemplated just not watching the rest but we finished it.

Ugh...trying to watch Dirty Dancing right now. I don't why we made such a big deal of it growing up; worst acting ever

Lost in Translation. Beyond boring. I can't figure out why this got such great press as a comedy. It had a few funny moments, but mostly it was sad and depressing.

I don't know if you've ever been to Japan, but I found the movie hilarious. There was a lot of stuff that you have had to been there to appreciate. And I LOVE the Star Wars series (but think the first one was the best)

The original Star Wars was a perfect stand-alone movie. All of the others were just to make George Lucas and company richer.

Lost in Translation. Beyond boring. A past co-worker of mine owned this movie and kept telling me how wonderful it was. She brought it for me to watch. I was so BORED OUT OF MY MIND!!! When I brought it back to her I mentioned I wasn't impressed. She said oh, but the cinematography is wonderful. I was like yeah, I don't care. Just wanted to be entertained and this was NOT entertaining to me. Oh, also didn't think Sideways was all that great - just ok. Definitely didn't deserve to be nominated for best picture.

I didn't care for the Star Wars movie too much either but I can see why the original was thought to be good during that time. I enjoyed the Lord of the Rings movie. The Shining is a classic to me but I am a thriller/horror movie fan.

Sam and sorry Rae and others I offended I enjoyed Lost in Translation but I watched it on my first date with this REALLY hunky artist when I was in college, and was in a much more pretentious/hipster phase... if I watched it today I'd probably be bored out of my mind. I do love Bill Murray, though.

Citizen Kane, however, was awful. I have no idea why it is considered so wonderful.

"Love Story" Okay story line, but Ali McGraw can't act to save her life. IMO Ryan O'Neal...so-so too.

Citizen Kane, however, was awful. I have no idea why it is considered so wonderful.I watched it with DH's roommate while he was at work one night-long before we were married. We were just minutes from the end when DH came home and said: "Oh, is this the movie where Rosebud is the sled?" Twenty plus years later, every time we ruin a surprise for each other, we alway say "Rosebud is the sled.""

I wouldn't put in the 'worst' category, but I never understood the hoopla about Titanic.
I (and everyone else) already knew what happens with the ship and I thought that the Jack and Rose storyline was 'meh'.
And it did contain one of the cheesiest movies moments ever (hint: IAKOTW)
Oh, and lets throw in a ginormous jewel necklace that survives the sinking, only to be dropped into the ocean decades later. What was the point and significance of that? (I know they thought it had a point and significance, I just don't agree that it did.)

No Country for Old Men. I found it extremely boring. Same with There Will be Blood. DH liked both movies but I can't figure out how they managed to get Oscars and if they were so good they warranted an Oscar why didn't I know these movies existed till the Oscars aired? I also never really understood the hoopla about Titanic. I am surprised I lived thru middle school after daring to utter that to several female friends who had already seen the movie 11 times. While I love the original Star Wars trilogy, the more I watch the prequels the less and less I like them. Hayden Christensen and Natalie Portman have ZERO chemistry which ruins the entire driving theme of the prequels.

Benjamin Button
It was 3 and 1/2 hours long and it was the longest 3 1/2 hours of my life.
