And just a little more good news.
About 5 years ago, we started looking for an association between Alzheimer's and periodontal disease. I did the work waaay back when, then went back and repeated it, because the data was so compelling.
I just got notified today that the paper's been accepted for publication, and as far as I know (I've not really kept up on the Alzheimer's literature) this is the first time there is a published, possible association between the 2 conditions.
Only monkey wrench thrown into the mix that one of the authors on the paper didn't do a damn thing. I think he needs publications, so was put on the paper to boost his CV. Not the first time crap like this happens in academia, and not going to be the last. But it still pisses me off.
