No, I mean that big cluster of soda crackers on the border between Missouri and Illinois. They're surrounded by popeyes to the north and cokeheads to the south, totally isolated. I thought you were referring to the lone soda county in Pop state of Iowa.

I live in "Soda" and I'm from "Soda" but I call it "Pop." I'm unique - just like everyone else.
I think Alaska is hilarious! Nevada is pretty divided also. Pretty funny!

No, I mean that big cluster of soda crackers on the border between Missouri and Illinois. They're surrounded by popeyes to the north and cokeheads to the south, totally isolated. Given where I grew up I can see why I really don't care too much about whether someone uses the words soda, pop, or soda pop. I think the invasion of Coke people into Indiana is scary. Who knows what other strange beliefs they might have brought with them from the south.

For me it's always been called POP, but on occasion a few SODAs snuck in there. I've moved from one province to another.

For a while I referred to it as "A sugary, carbonated, flavored, non-alcoholic beverage" because a couple of my friends gave me so much crap about calling it one thing or another.

I'm definitely in the Coke area except that I drink Pepsi. But I remember when Super Target opened and was looking for Pepsi. Wasn't in mood to walk up and down aisles. Don't know how many times I looked at the Product signs before it dawned on me that SODA meant soft drinks. I'm a little bit slow

West Tennessee restaurant server: "What would you like to drink?"
Customer: "I'll have a coke."
Server: "What kind?"
Customer: "A Mountain Dew please."

I was in the "other" category growing up. We called it "tonic". I spent 6 years in "pop" land and returned to my beloved tonic only to find out we'd been taken over by soda lovers. Oh, and it has ALWAYS been a bubbler to me. And we call them elastics, not rubber bands. Of course, mine is the land of the first settlers who brought the King's English to these shores.

Probably better for polite company. Up here we just call them "underwater farts". Honest, but blunt.

The 1950s/60s sisters/nuns who taught in my schools called it tonic. We thought it an odd word as we called it soda pop.
