Mine does. I am currently missing 1 pillow case (from a set of 4) and a black bra. I have cheked in all the usual places (drawer, linen closet, laundry room) and cannot find either.

I have had that happen before. Usually it is something I simply can't remember where I put it. I have had things fall out the back of a dresser drawer into the inside back of the dresser, have you pulled drawers out to see if that has happened to you? Otherwise my missing stuff is usually socks recruited by the troll that lives in the washer or dryer in preparation for a sock revolt!

Oh yes absolutely.
I am currently missing one flash drive and one flashlight. I finally gave up and bought another flashlight to replace the one I kept in my bedroom. I'm sure I must have taken it out of that room to use it someplace else - but I have no idea where that someplace else is. Driving me batty.

I find the exact opposite! I swear my house is the equivalent of the Motel Six for dishes, tupperware type dishes, clothing, craft supplies...you get the idea. It all breeds like rabbits at my place.

My car also has properties similar to a black hole. I have a minivan and can goods often roll out of grocery bags and then roll under a seat. The good news if I ever get stuck in a snow bank, I will be able to survive if I can open the can!

I think my dryer is eating my socks.
And I know my cats run off with all sorts of things ... when we move the couches we find their stash.

My closet has a penchant for shoes and undergarments. I just recently found my two chemises that I'd been looking for for ages!!!

I'm not sure if it is the house, the cats, or what a friend of mine likes to call the "house gnomes" but I will swear I can stand perfectly still in one place and be unable to find what I was just working with. Vegetable, chef knife, stirring spoon, pepper grinder, or a 750 ml wine bottle! It doesn't make any difference. Socks I gave up on twenty-five years ago. I put all my socks in one basket then once a month go through and pair them up. The remaining lonely guys are on their own. I've gotten irritated with the "remainders" in the past and thrown them all in rag bag or the trash. But, wouldn't you know, their mates show up in the next dryer load. Do you think maybe there is a conduit in the dryer connecting with Party Central where they all just hang out for a couple of weeks before they decide to come home?

Cheesy Thanks for the drawer suggestion. I just checked and the bra is not there. The sheets & pillow cases go from the bedroom to laundry room and back to the bedroom so not likely I forgot where I put it.
I do not even worry about the sock gremlin. That I just accept as a way of life.
Sccdf I have a Chevy Impala that also eats stuff. Falls off the passenger/my seat and gets caught in unreachable places next to/under the seats. Big PITA!!!
Agathas I have the same issues w/same kitchen stuff. I just put it down to CSR. Right now I am missing a roll of masking tape I ‘had’ tapped to my range island counter yesterday.

I have the same problem, but I think it's a 50/50 process. I have the usual sock dilema, don't know what happened to 3 of my teaspoons, and where in the world did that shirt/shoe go to? The socks are taken away during the night when all good children are sleeping, and only show up once I've decided to get rid of the mate. I'm sure the 3 teaspoons have something to do with my children or their friends (that's how I lose glasses and dishes, so it has to be the same process of elimination). No one other than me would dream of wearing my shoes/clothes (totally not DD's style). BUT, I also have those secure places I put things so I won't forget where I put them, and sadly, I think that's where most of my stuff is hiding.

Oh yes the sock troll ! Where do those socks go to ? I gain things after the kids and g-kids have been here! And what is funny is I call and ask them if they are missing such and such and they all say - no, were not missing that! Well it certainly was not here before you came!

Do you guys know about the latest teenage fasion trend? Socks that don't match! Yes they actually sell them that way at the store (Journeys). DD just asks for two socks they don't have to match anymore.
I of course am old and set in my ways - I still wear matching socks.

When DS was just 11-12 months old, he grabbed DH's glasses and threw them across the room, popping out both lenses. We only ever found one lens, even when we packed up the entire apartment a few months later to move to our new house. I have always wondered what happened to it.

I've had a running joke with a cousin that you never, ever, leave anything at her house because it will vanish, never to be seen again.
My house eats stuff too. Towels, dishes, and other random items. I think the problem will resolve itself once my kids move out.

My DD was onto the trend of wearing mix matched socks over 10 years ago. She totally didn't care whether her socks matched, and most of the time they didn't. Don't ask me how that happened, because I prided myself on matching them and rolling them together before they were sent off to her room! I often wondered where I went wrong as a parent, and then started noticing that alot of her friends did it too. Figured they were on to something new. And then lo and behold, my son started doing it too. But I think his was pure laziness. Actually, I think it was pure laziness on both of them. But I have to say, I was totally taken aback (and a tear or two came to the eye) when they both left after their Christmas break was over they both cleaned up their rooms and made their beds . That has totally never happened before, even after being asked to prior to their departure. And I totally didn't say one word to them about it. Maybe my babies are growing up after all I'm so proud!

I too was speechless one of the first times DD1 came home from college and picked up the table and rinsed and loaded the dishwasher without being asked. She is the one that I had to drag through chores while she was growing up. She also makes the bed and makes sure the room is tidy when she goes home. They DO grow up!

Knock on wood! I don't think I have ever lost an article of clothing in the washer/dryer. I did see one escape to the side between the dryer & the wall but I just slid out the dryer & retrieved it! I don't think I loose other things either. But I have a SIL who NEVER puts anything in the same place twice...dishes, pots/pans, silverware (she has 3 drawers FULL), etc. It was a challenge to cook at her house since she is slowly going blind. I finally told her I would put the dishes away so I could find what I needed to cook with the next day! Oh, and she stores 3 different iron skillets in the oven...ALL WITH GREASE IN THEM...but forgot to tell me....talk about a smoked up house!!!!!!!!!!

When I was growing up, it always seemed like the house was eating something of mine. Now that I'm grown and my mom is reorganizing all the time, the house seems to be "regurgitating" what it ate all those years ago. Every time I go visit my mom, I always end up coming home with stuff I lost years ago.

Twlight zone at our home. Stuff I want dissapears. Stuff I have not seen in ages suddenly appears. One day I think Rod Sterling will knock on the door, looking for a match to his socks.

If you wash underwear and socks in with pillowcases, they could go in there. Maybe they go in them just to hide so you have to look for them.

I was making an online purchase and my cat knocked the credit card off my computer table. I had to cancel the card. I have since moved and the card did not turn up in my packing. I have no idea of where she hid it.

I call it the black hole and there are several in the house and car. The car has one so deep and dark that I think there is a gnome in there. My DH also takes and hides things from me. I call shenanigans. I have used my cc to purchase something online and have lost the cc before I got it back to my wallet. Fortunately I have found it.

Several pieces of my clothes will go missing for weeks on end after doing laundry. When it occurs to me to check out my daughters' closets is when they are usually rediscovered. They don't covet my clothes, just in telling them to put away laundry they get rather lazy about what goes where.
