I knew I wouldn't get to my goal by the end of this year so will just have to carry over some of these into 2013. Will also have to restart the property tax & timeshare ones from zero. Yuck! Will be slow going the rest of this year with the holidays, etc.. All in all, I'm very happy with the results thus far. Happy November, everybody!

UPDATE: speechchick71 11/9/2012 $17,167.00 (goal=$26,000, started 1/3/12) | Aug 20 | Nov 9 | Goal | How much to go | % Met | Roth 2011 | $2,900.00 | $2,900.00 | $5,000.00 | $2,100.00 | 58% | Roth 2012 | $1,500.00 | $2,000.00 | $5,000.00 | $3,000.00 | 40% | 401k | $3,958.00 | $4,331.00 | $4,000.00 | -$331.00 | 108% | Savings | $6,936.00 | $7,936.00 | $12,000.00 | $4,064.00 | 66% | | - | - | - | - | | Totals | $15,294.00 | $17,167.00 | $26,000.00 | $8,833.00 | 66%
Well look at that! I got myself a rose! I remember saying, back in August, that I was so close that making that goal for my 401k that I should check my addition. I must have missed a whole paycheck of additions because I made it over my goal...and that was really by August because I haven't been able to add to it since I left my job. None of the other totals have increased as I'm hardly working right now. My new job has been really slow to start up so there is no money to be saving. If I had stayed at my other job for the remainder of the year I feel confident that I would have saved at least my total goal amount. I think it might have to be less for next year but allocated differently. I'm hoping to have new goals in place for 2013 soon!

Aww thank you...Yeah, life is serving me nothing but lemons and after I found out some....interesting information on my soon to be ex, I decided I am done letting him take things from me. I want my marriage but at this point, when he decides his female" friend needs to be in his life more than his own wife, than by all means, he can have it.

twinmama: I wish I could just give you a hug. Keep your chin up and don't forget to take care of yourself...I know you are taking care of your boys...and don't forget about covering yourself financially with child support, etc. It is a time for fairness...not niceness.
And thanks for your service to our country too!

Update: Hi All! I am back from Spain & Portugal. I had a fantastic trip but still have a bit of jetlag. Man is it hard to catch up!!! I haven't calculated what I have spent as most of it went on a credit card (already paid off!!) so that I didn't have to pay the currency exchange fee. I will have to put that on my next update.....just wanted to get my update in! Update: Mak 11/16/12 $10,674 (01/02/12 $0)This I think includes everything we will be depositing in 2012. DH is having disk fusion surgery next week and between that and the new baby (Boy Born 10.29.12) we will have our hands full with medical bills. We did come up with a plan to try and pay all those bills off as they come in. We will have to see how close they are. Our goal is to be able to start saving more aggressively again once 2013 hits. We had a lot of change this year with selling the house, moving, and adding child #3, so although we did not meet our goals I still think we made good progress! Fund | Goals | Previous | Newly Added | YTD | % Met | House Down Payment | $4,000 | $500 | $0 | $500 | 12.50% | Cabin | $5,000 | $3,654 | $1,346 | $5,000 | 100.00% | Emergency Fund | $1,800 | $900 | $0 | $900 | 50.00% | Christmas | $600 | $200 | $100 | $300 | 50.00% | Boat Expense | $600 | $350 | $50 | $400 | 66.67% | Medical | $2,000 | $2,000 | $0 | $2,000 | 100.00% | Kindergarten | $1,000 | $426 | $574 | $1,000 | 100.00% | Family Vacation | $1,000 | $320 | $254 | $574 | 57.39% | TOTAL | $16,000 | $8,350 | $2,324 | $10,674 | 66.71%

UPDATE P8nt 11/16/12 $3704.30 (3/3/12 $1.25 Goal $12,000) Fund | Goals | Starting | Current | Remaining | % of Goal | Emergency Fund | $2,000.00 | $1.25 | $2,000.00 | $0.00 | 100% | Vacation Fund | $2,000.00 | $0.00 | $1,704.30 | $295.70 | 85% | Student Teaching | $8,000.00 | $0.00 | $0.00 | $8,000.00 | 0% | TOTAL | $12,000.00 | $1.25 | $3,704.30 | $8,295.70 | 31% |
I'm torn about whether or not to modify my goals before the end of the year, since I won't meet these. My last day at work is 1/2/13 and when I get my final paycheck, I'll be adding about $16,000. to my savings. I think I'm going to leave it as is, and factor that into my 2013 goals. My entire goal for the first part of 2013 will be to not dip into my savings while I do my student teaching. Then hopefully I'll be able to start adding to savings the last half of 2013.

Thank you! I scaled back my goals after mom died but ready to ramp up again. Will be looking for work, need to otherwise I cannot reach my goal of around 1200 a month. This board really helps keep me on track.
p8nt, I scaled my goals back to what had to be done this year vs what I hoped would be done. Now I wish I'd left it alone. Yes the car isn't there but isn't this more of a motivation board?
