I don't think she'd need 5 Dawn, only 4. It should be close enough to trigger the gift card. Also, depending on your inserts, it could be a little better deal. My P&G always is $1/2 Bounty. Still not a great deal...depends on whether you need those items now or not. Good point on the Dawn. I never get anything but .25/1 for The Bounty, so I shouldn't assume other folks do. I don't know how but I got $1/1 for the bounty in this P&G insert.

Hi Ohio! Where are these? They're on the back of the front page of the SS the one with the Glucerna Q's on the front. The 1/1 SS? Boy, talk about regional differences. I didn't get any Pepsi or Glucerna Q's. Sorry!

I don't buy things I don't use, so will use all those 3 items. I have a stockpile of all of them, but lately it seems that companies keep decreasing sizes of their product, so I want to keep stockpiling household products and whatever else I can, if it makes sense. Lena If you already have a stockpile of all these items, I would not do this deal. You can get most of these things for free at some point. I agree with misspt that it is getting harder to get paper towels free, but, you can still get them pretty cheap, just gotta watch for a deal. The most recent deal I got was at Price Chopper. They had 6 pks of Sparkle select a size for 5.99 each, there was a manufacturer coupon and a store coupon and I think each pack was only $2.xx. IF you got the $1/1 Bounty Q, you can usually find Bounty Basic for under $1 single roll, making it free.

The reg price for a single roll of bounty PT is about $3. I NEVER get them for free or even really cheap. If we used PT very much this deal would be a pretty good one for where I live.

Personally, I wouldn't jump on that "pay $1 for toothpaste & get all these coupons" deal. I get most of those coupons on a regular basis in my inserts. Now, perhaps, for those on here who don't buy/get Sunday papers, then this might be a good deal. Just my viewpoint, of course. Thanks for sharing, because maybe this is a great deal for someone.

So, are you saying that you would just rather take $1 QC and use them on single rolls to get them for free? I only like Bounty for PT..

Ok I'm not sure if this was a good idea or not but I just bought a LOT of newspapers so I could get the $2 Tide coupon Vons normally has Tide for $14.99 but now they are on sale for buy two 100 oz and pay $9.99 each with the $2 coupon that makes them $7.99 each which turns out to be about 8 cents per ounce. Compared to Walgreens $5.99 each $2 coupon brings it to $3.99 which comes out to 12 cents per ounce for their 32 oz. I am planning on buying 10 more bottles to build my stockpile but I feel way guilty cuz I'm going to use my EF to buy them.

I am SUPER ecstatic about the plastic boxes at Staples that FrugalSuz posted on her blog about. (These bins will come in very handy for stockpiling. I don't mind just using cardboard boxes, but it's really nice to have a plastic bin where you can see what's inside!) We don't get the Staples ad in our Sunday paper, so I otherwise wouldn't have noticed the deal (even though I do get their e-mails lol.) There's a Staples very close to me. STAPLES REWARDS QUESTION Frugal Suz or anyone who does Staples rewards if you could answer a question for me. the Avery HD binders and the legal/letter totes. I have 2 sale ads with the $5/$25 of purchase. I know if I use it they will subtract it from my rewards. If I got them in separate orders and got $5 of something extra how would that be treated. Would they count the extra $5 of merch for the $5/25 off and give me the entire amount left for the binder as rewards? EX 4 Binders 8.99 ea.............$35.96 plus something....................5.00 total........................................40.96 minus $5/$25..........................35.96 plus tax. Will I get the full $35.96 in that ex back in rewards or would they just give me $30.96 in rewards? Thanks to anyone who can help me!!! BB, I just did something similar to what you're proposing. I bought (2) of the Plastic bins ($13.49 ea) and a $5 set of Post-It Notes. I used the $5/$25 coupon and it applied $4.22 to the bins and .78 to the post-it notes. Darn! I was thinking just what you were, but it looks like it pro-rates that $5 coupon among your purchases. Here's what my receipt looked like: (2) Staples L/L Totes 13.49 ea $26.98 Coupon -4.22
(1) Post-It 3x3 op $5.00 Coupon -.78
Total $26.98
So I think I can answer your question - the coupon will pro-rate towards your purchases. I would have been better off not buying the post-it notes. But I'll just count it as a lesson learned.

I did the CVS deal today - got 2 12-packs of Bounty ($19.98), 2 Dawn detergents ($1.98), Always pads ($3), Always Infinity ($3.99), Always pantiliners ($3), 2 Pantene ($6.66), 1 Aussie ($3), 4 Nivea lip balms - total after coupons was $39 something, got $6 EB and the $10 GC, so really $23. I was pretty happy with it because those are all brands to which I'm somewhat loyal, and the total was what I'd have spent on just the paper towels a year ago

sealy - how long does the 100oz last you? buying 10 at that price for me would be a good 3 maybe 4 years worth of Tide so i might not buy that many. however, if you are brand picky & only use Tide and this is the lowest price you've seen in 3+ months, then do it. detergent is a great thing to stockpile because you will always need it.

Sealy - do you have any other stores besides Vons? Reason I ask is that the 50 oz Tide is on sale at Fred Meyer's this week for $4.99. Less $2 mq is $2.99, which works out to 6 cents per oz. I think Fred Meyer's sister store might have this sale too. Not sure what the name of it is - Kroger's maybe?

jd I still have plenty of laundry soap but I haven't seen it this price before. It would definitely last me quite a long time I wouldn't need to buy anymore for a while.
I also have the always and dawn Qs that were in them so I am hoping that it was a wise choice. I am just second guessing myself right now.

No free paper towels where I live either in general.
Best prices I have gotten in the last year was for Viva. 1.4 cents/SF or 1.1 cents/sheet.
I also stocked up on the Kleenex hand towels at a good price. I use these as paper towels. I paid 4/10th of a cent per towel.
Just throwing out those numbers in case they are helpful to anyone. I'm not much of a paper towel connoisseur, so I don't know how these compare to Bounty.

I know it seems weird to ask someone to give you a high value Q but it is only worth that much if you would use it. I have asked for high value coupons before and gotten them. And I have sent others high value coupons for them to use that I wouldn't have. Just a thought. Truthfully I have 3 from this weekend that you can have if you want.

Leanna thanks so much for sharing the info on Staples rewards! Ssorry you learned the hard way but that was exactly what I was going to do. I have used Staples easy rebates before but this will be the first time for the Rewards. I think I have gone over to the dark side.

We also get the $1/1 bounty P/T. Misspt - That's a great price for p/t. I'm also doing the P/T deal, but I'm getting 3 packs instead. We only use Bounty p/t & I figure getting 36 rolls for $17 OOP is a great deal. The single roll Bounty Basic is 49/50c after Q at Target. But with this deal, I'm getting the regular rolls (which is stronger) for 47c/roll. I used to get free Bounty Basic at my one GS, but they've changed their Q policy to "NO free items with Qs" (thanks EC ) Happy New Year everyone!
