We had some champagne and fresh OJ this morning, along with bagels and cream cheese. Plenty to tide us over until lunch later. I did get a bike ride in, and doing laundry now. Will pack and mow the lawn, finish cleaning the bathrooms and vacuum later. I hate coming home to chores after a trip!

Today I puttered around the house after a nice morning nap. I returned a couple of things to Mom's house and it looks like I did it at the right time, it is now pouring rain.

Well, tomorrow morning we'll take down the Christmas tree. Then, because too many lights have burned out on it, and we can't get replacements anymore, so we'll be putting out the tree with the trash. It makes me a bit sad, as we've had this tree since around the time we got Bad Boy Puppy, but it's beyond repair, so it's time...

Good Morning Kids! The tree got taken down, and is out with the trash. Today is our normal trash day, but on a holiday week, you're never quite sure if you get normal pick-up, or if they'll be by a day later...

Grrr. When DH works in the yard, he likes to go out the backdoor. Why, I don't know. The garage, with all of our tools, is near the front door. And, our backdoor opens out directly to our patio, so there's no screen porch to keep out the critters. Well, it finally happened. DH let in an anole (think gecko). And, in spite of both of our efforts, it is currently hiding underneath my fridge. Not happy.

Sounds like this weekends project should be a new screen door for the backdoor.

So, there's no way to put in a screen door. Sorry about the rat problem you're having. Are you setting traps, putting out poison, or both?

Hello peeps! I am on the west coast of FL for the race/family reunion thing. No one dead or in jail yet, but then again, I don't see them until later on. We are doing the big lunch tomorrow so I have the morning to myself. Weather may be crappy, but I brought a ton of stuff to do for competition, retirement, etc. The hotel has breakfast, so I will enjoy it for a change.

Sorry about the rat problem you're having. Are you setting traps, putting out poison, or both? I am already on quarterly service with a pest control company for general pests (mainly carpenter ants) so I called them about my unwanted visitors. They found where they are entering under the house and placed a bait box there and second bait box outside in the back yard. There is also a bait box in the garage. Apparently rats are suspicious of anything new in their environment so he said it might be a week or two before they will even hit on the bait. They will be back in a month and check the boxes and add new bait if needed. After a couple of months of this we will then seal up the house. They are trying to keep from sealing them up under the house so they won't die under there and stink up the place.

Morning my peeps! Took a walk to the grocery store for a paper and found money - not a lot, just change on the ground, but hey, it goes into my change jar when I get home and then into savings at the end of the year. So, I made a little money out walking this morning. Taking it easy today - had breakfast (and took a banana and some cereal for tomorrow, since the race begins at 7; I have to leave here before 5 to gas up the car on the way there). Skies are cloudy and rain moving in at the moment, so it is a good morning to work on the paperwork I brought, and catch up on all that. I have only laundry to do when I get home; the house was clean when I left, and I know what is for dinner when I get home tomorrow.
I counted how many days I have left to work at my job and it was 104 as of Friday. I have a little calendar posted in my home office. Each night, after I work out with my free weights, I get to cross off another day. How's that for incentive?

Good Afternoon Kids! It's a gloomy, rainy day here. But, that's o.k., as I've got plenty to do here at home. NancysSummerSip, are you doing a retirement countdown, or just until when you plan to leave your current job?

I have just been puttering around the house today trying to get a few things done. In a bit I will go pick up some chicken at the grocery deli for Mom and I for dinner tonight and then spend the evening with her watching TV. I'm tired and would rather just stay home in my jammies.

It's pouring rain this morning. I plan on just puttering again today, and maybe spend some time knitting, before going over to Mom's late afternoon. Tonight we are having Panera for dinner. My boss gave me a gift card to Panera for Christmas.

Good Afternoon Kids! The temps here went back to "normal", whatever that means, so it was in the low 40's when we left for church. But, the sun is shining, so it's not so bad.
We've got plenty of turkey in the freezer leftover from Christmas, so I'll be using some of it to make dinner tonight.

Good Morning Kids! We actually had the South's version of a frost warning last night. Doesn't affect me, as I've got nothing planted that I'd worry about losing.

NancysSummerSip , are you doing a retirement countdown, or just until when you plan to leave your current job? DARNED RIGHT I HAVE A COUNTDOWN GOING!!!!!! A small calendar in my home office, actually. Peeps, I am coming to you from my new laptop. Got it booted up and it's fab. Unable to use the printer as a wireless connection, though (DH uses the USB cable on his desktop, so I guess I either need another printer, or just live without it).

The reunion was very nice; no one dead or in jail. Got a third place age group finish at the race. Weather was rainy Saturday and cold Sunday.
