Been a busy morning so far. Rode the new bike for a hard fast ride, then home for a quick car wash and detail (before it rains, of course). I am making a fresh cherry cake for the week (it's a good mid-morning snack for me) and dinner tonight is pork chops, rice and peas.

Just found brunch hiding on the previous page . Some of that fresh fruit and cheese and crackers will be a good mid-morning snack on a hot day.

Hi Kids! We just got back from church, and it's already 94 degrees. But, it looks like we may get some rain, so who knows what the temp might be in a couple of hours...

How's the weather been on the road, Unknown Angelo? Seems like a lot of the country is either getting too much heat, or stormy weather...

Hey everyone. I'm taking the day off. I drive 18 wheelers, and currently in Cheyenne, Wyoming. I've been online for years with lady who drove 18 wheeler. She has retired. If memory serves me her husband also was a driver. I loved "talking" with her and hearing the stories. Met online back around 1996. Back in the days of instant messenger and private chat rooms! Be be safe out there and know that this little ole lady envies you.

How's the weather been on the road, Unknown Angelo ? Seems like a lot of the country is either getting too much heat, or stormy weather... As of lately, it's been pretty normal, as in a few sunny days here, and cloudy there. Yesterday it rained for a little bit, which was nice enough to put you to sleep. (Not while I was driving.) Today it's pretty windy, and I can see a storm cloud heading my way. Hey everyone. I'm taking the day off. I drive 18 wheelers, and currently in Cheyenne, Wyoming. I have a dashcam so every now and then I tend to upload videos of scenery or a cop pulling off to go pull someone over. I need to upload more.

Good morning. 86* and scattered storms predicted.
Ners and Sharon hoping for good results.
I think I'm getting energy and balance back. My walks the last 4 days have been 15 minutes. I think I need more protein so I'm getting some Yoplait lite cherry yogurt. I like it and haven't had any in years.
Learning a lot about salt content of foods. Some can get you to 2000 mg easily. I was surprised about my breakfast. Honey Nut Cheerios is 160 mg, not bad. Surprised skim milk is 125 mg. Still not bad for one meal to be 285. Staying away from fast food and most processed food.

Ugh! Not a happy camper. In addition to usual maintenance, I'd hoped to add a trailer hitch to my SUV, in case we ever need to leave for a hurricane. But, according to GM, they don't recommend putting anything bigger on than a bike rack. If I'd known that I wasn't supposed to ever haul anything, I'd have picked out a different vehicle. Next time, I'm not buying anything that doesn't already have a trailer hitch on it.

Morning Muffins! Played tourist yesterday. Took mom and her sister up into the hills for a little "roadie" . Cruised the Hills south of Mt Rushmore and through the Custer State Park area. We were looking for wildlife, and did see a few buffalo. However, this is Sturgis Rally week, so mainly we encountered and followed Harley-Davidsons. So it could be said we encountered and observed "abundant " wild bikelife!! Really, it was fun! I just know better than to venture into the northern Black Hills during this particular week. I see today is National Work Like A Dog Week. Really? Hate to say it, but it is just to hot! Might we change this one to say....January? I learned something else this morning...….we actually celebrate a day just for underwear. How bout that? National Underwear Day! But what happens to those who "don't"? I have noticed for the last 44 years living in the vicinity of this bike rally that a lot of folks seem to totally forgo the concept of underwear during the entire week of the event. Unless, of course, you can answer this question.....does "body paint" meet the definition of underwear?

Lost about another 10 lbs. Doc and I are getting a little concerned, but nothing seems out of the ordinary.

Lost about another 10 lbs. Doc and I are getting a little concerned, but nothing seems out of the ordinary. Well, if you're sure your eating habits aren't the cause, my first thought is to get your thyroid checked. Obviously, your doctor probably would be your best guide if the weight loss continues. Best wishes, whatever it is.

Bluerobin Did the extreme heat limit your eating. I know when it is warm I find it difficult to eat. I second getting the thyroid checked.

Morning all. Had to go to a new doctor yesterday as my former doctor retired. I think the doctor will be changing the dosage of my blood pressure medicine as my blood pressure has been running low. Now to wait for the results of blood work.
Have a great day all.

Getting ready for an ill-fated vacation with Mom. We are in the middle of a huge project at work and I really shouldn't be taking time off but hopefully have given enough instructions etc to keep my part moving, which will keep everyone else moving for a couple of days. It doesn't appear that we will be swimming in the lake since the forecast for the area is abundant thunderstorms. For Saturday it is supposed to be a high of 65 degrees instead of the usual 90's for the area, 80% chance of rain and thunderstorms. There is a red flag warning out for a high chance of fires due to the abundant thunderstorms. AND I think I am getting a cold

Can I just stay home? I still am not ready to leave and just really want to spend the next four days in bed recharging and catching up on my sleep. Guess I need to find breakfast, other than cookies, and get busy.

Good Morning Kids! Sharon, can't you just tell your Mom that you're getting sick, and don't want anyone else to catch what you have? We're continuing with the heat, and it isn't expected to cool down until at least Monday. DH, DS & I did head to the beach close to sunset last night, just to sit & watch the waves.
