It would be really cool to watch, Sharon! Unfortunately, we're supposed to be getting thunderstorms that day, so I'll probably try to see it on the internet. Oh well... How's the "baby watch" going for your DD? Wishing that the timing of the baby arriving isn't messed up by all the fuss about the eclipse!

Her due date is Sunday but at her last appointment this past week the doctor had her make 2 more appointments. If baby isn't here after the second appointment then they will induce. If baby waits until after the eclipse that would probably be best for everyone.

I had to get 4 units of blood cause my haemoglobin was so low. I was at 75, but by the time I left more like 156 or so. Jaguar.....we really have to talk......you are just gonna have to really limit the time you spend around folks with "fangs"!

Good morning gang! The Guru has me a little nostalgic today. Like bringing thoughts back from yesteryear. Today is National Mail Order Catalog Day. Were any of you like me? As a kid I used to hover around that mail box waiting for the first Christmas Catalogs to show up. It was a big deal. Poor kids today miss out on all the excitement, all the anticipation. I mean the internet is there with stuff online 24/7. Do any of you out there still receive any mail order catalogs at all? I still get one or two.

Good Morning Kids! Happy Friday! We still get plenty of catalogs here. When I was a kid, I used to LOVE getting the "Wish Book" at Christmastime, & look at all of the toys in there. Kids today don't know how good we had it.

OK, we can party now that Jag is out on her trip. Except that I am pooped. Long day working today, enjoying a bowl of homemade frozen chocolate yogurt at the moment.

Mornin Muffins! Enjoy the great weekend ahead. Then Monday - the end of the world!!! If we have a bunch of folks standing around watching the Eclipse, I am going to go out take a glance at the sun, without glasses, then scream "I'M BLIND!" It should liven things up!

No time to build an Arc. At one point much of the back yard was under water but it soaked in quickly.

Wow ken a.k.a OMK that is a lot of rain in a short period of time. Stay dry. I made applesauce yesterday and am going to do another box of apples today. My niece is having a surprise birthday party of her husband this evening. I don't really want to go and it is a good drive on a normal day, but it appears that my parents and I are the only ones who said they would come. My sisters house is a hoarder type house, crap everywhere and kinda stinky. I only think that it is as clean as it is because sis's hubby is in a wheelchair so they need to maintain paths for her to get around. We did tell them that we would be watching the traffic and if was horrendous that we weren't going to try and get up there. Apoc-eclipse update. So far the traffic hasn't been to bad, in fact in some cases it has been lighter than usual. It appears that most of the locals are staying off the roads and staying home. They also interviewed some of the people in the hotels and they said they are just hanging around the hotels because they don't want to get into a traffic mess. We shall see what this weekend brings. I am seeing a lot of out of state license plates. The fire near Sister's OR exploded yesterday and is now 2 miles from the town. For now the main highway is open but they are talking that it may need to close. If they end up closing that highway I can't imagine the gridlock of all the people trying to get out of central OR. There was a 30 mile backup with people trying to get into some music fest/eclipse viewing thing up by Prineville. If they close hwy 22 it will make that 30 miles backup seem like minor heavy traffic. They did do a story on a group of Japanese tourists who had arrived after a 10 hour flight and then found out that they had another 14 hour bus ride to get their destination. They were understandably not happy. I am not sure how they were coming up with 14 hours but that is what the news story reported.

Good Morning Kids (barely)! I haven't slept well this week, so took the opportunity to sleep in today. DH is working the early shift today, so when he gets home, most likely we'll either work on cleaning the garage, or the basement. We're considering another garage sale next weekend, but it totally depends on what the weather is doing.

Afternoon, mine peeps! Got out early to swim and go to the Italian grocery store for the big chicken stock up. I am making chicken tacos tonight. Did not get to mow the lawn last night, but must do it today, before the rains come tomorrow. Our view of the eclipse may be a washout Monday, depending on those tropical waves. We have Gert and Harvey out there, though neither is a threat to us. They sound like a couple of crotchety old people next door.

What everyone is neglecting to say is that looking at the sun today, with no eclipse for 2 and 1/2 minutes will damage your eyes. It just isn't the eclipse, it is the length of time.

We went to Salem Costco this am. 22 was fine as was everywhere else. I think everyone is where they want to be for it. Probably Monday afternoon and Tuesday will be zoos.

Did you travel to see the eclipse, zibazinski? Cool! Actually I traveled to see my family who mostly live in Salem and was mentally off enough to not realize it was eclipse time until I tried to get back to Tampa. I can't get back until the 24th and I can either stay up all night in the hotel lobby where I catch my shuttle to Portland or I can pay $250 for a $100 room!!

So I bought my eclipse glasses and my aunt, uncle, cousins and their kids, and I will be watching and partying on my aunt and uncles porch. I bought steaks and cake and other stuff from Costco today in preparation for the party.

I will likely be working during the eclipse, but may get to step out and see it. Down here, it won't be total anyway, and with afternoon rains always a possibility, it may be a washout.

They're still saying we most likely won't see it here, due to rain, but they're telling us what time it'll be at peak, "just in case".

According to a co-worker everyone went to costco last Thursday afternoon. He said the line of cars to get into costco was backed up onto the freeway. We went up to Beaverton today, up 217 ugh, and it was lighter than usual. Coming home we were watching the license plates and most of them were from Washington.
