Ok, so I went to my local WAGS yesterday to see if they had gotten in the Gatorade Prime & Recover as I had 2 of the free RR's for them and they expire today, well imagine my surprise they actually had them in AND the RR's were still printing for a free prime & recover. Sooo, for $6.72 OOP (I also had a $10 RR from the Estroven) I snagged 15 Primes, 15 Recovers, 2 of the Carmax and 2 of the Maxwell house 11oz coffee (reg & decaf, we like to mix it). oh and one of the halloween reeses. And in return I got 2 $1.50 RR's, a $5 egiftcard to Foot locker, (this came up in my 1st trans as I didn't know it was still giving the RR's and had used both of my initial free ones together), and I still have another RR for a free Prime and Recover. Yes, it was many trans but I went in a couple of different times w/different cashiers and they didn't have a problem w/it. So over $100 worth of product for less than $10 and my DD will use it as she does weightlighting for the HS and karate. I usually never get anything worthwhile from WAGS. meli_beach: I don't know if this has changed or not, but Maxwell House used to carry what they call "Lite". It is priced the same as the regular, but is 1/2 caf. The Maxwell House decaf is usually more expensive than the regular or the Lite so buying (2) Lite would be less expensive than buying one regular and one decaf and you don't have to mess with mixing them - that is if you want 1/2 caf. HTH ;D That's what we usually do is buy the Lite. But this time it came out cheaper to buy separate and mix. Ok, ok only about ~.01 an oz cheaper but still.... These days if we an find the Lite on sale for 9.99 we think we struck gold, just a few months ago we could get it for 6.99 on sale.

Oh, the attention in that thread is going to be off DancinMama real quick. I am getting into a fight with someone, and it's probably going to get pretty ugly.

Some people will never understand if they have never been in your shoes. And regarding GG: I am beginning to think that she and others on that thread believe that only a person who HAS TO use coupons would do so as aggressively as we do here.

DancinMama,There are people in this world who like to complain (about other people's behavior) and other people who like to solve the problem. I'm a problem solver. Always have been. Complaining is useless, unless it accompanies action. So, I would have the same opinion regardless of my personal situation. However, what happened to me makes it all the more painful when I hear of people standing by when they know other people are engaging in reckless behavior. P.S. Did you like my diet comment? P.S. #2 I enjoy couponing - it's a bit of a game for me. So, I guess I never feel like I "have" to do it. I mostly feel like every bit of money I save by using a coupon, I get to spend on something else. Money is finite for most of us. It's all about choices. You can choose to spend more at the grocery store, or you can choose to spend that money elsewhere.

Sometimes I REALLY enjoy couponing and sometimes it is "a job" to me - like when there is a great deal on something that we DO NEED and I don't really "feel like" shopping. Yes, that's right. Sometimes dancinmama doesn't feel like doing a deal. Imagine that. ;D However, I totally agree that it is all about choices. Because I have chosen to use coupons very aggressively for more than 20 years, we have many more choices today than we would have otherwise. For example, IF DH gets laid off, it will not be the "ideal situation", but it won't be the end of the world either and he will not have to find another job.

Perhaps a useful coupon: Softsoap 8 oz or + .70/1 Good value. Only problem is the "regular" softsoap is 7.5 oz. Must be for a larger size. Coupon is here: www.couponnetwork.com/

Good morning. Went to Giant Eagle before work this morning because I had some coupons expiring today and the new sale started today. It was so nice when I was checking out that the cashier asked me how I did my coupons. I told her that I follow a blog (sistersshoppingona shoestring) about GE and they do all the work for you....all you have to do is find/print the coupons and follow your list. She wrote down the site. She was impressed and I was excited to see someone else wanting to save some $ on products they use. OhMom: I use the sisters too! My fav was OHCherryPicker, but she has had health problems and is unable to do it now. She had matchups for Marc's and Drug Mart also and I haven't able to find another blogger who does them.

I went to Safeway/Dominicks yesterday for their one day sale on Viva (stockpile was low). $5.00 for six rolls, used the $2.00 off from current issue of all you and got six rolls for $3.00. That's a bargain in my area. While I was there I noticed (and picked up) Miller Lite (on sale) which had a $5.00 off any meat purchase (peelie) good 9-1 through 9-9. Free burgers! They did not have any of the MDA booklets but tons of fliers posted throughout the store. Went to Wags (next door to the Safeway) and they were totally out of the Carmex. I also wanted the honey that was on sale. Out also. Three Wags this week, only one had one Carmex. None of them had the honey. Good thing I didn't make any special trips. I do have to pick up an Rx at Wags today that wasn't ready when it was supposed to be. I'll be asking for a raincheck on the honey. Now it has become a special trip. Hate when that happens.

Hi all! I haven't posted much lately. Between the hurricaine and having to evacuate. and clean up when we got back there hasn't been much shopping for me. I also really don't need much so I just took a break. It wouldn't be a problem now but might be later. I haven't gotten any coupons for the past couple of weeks. The first for I don't know what reason they weren't in the mailing or the papers. Last week with the hurricaine we didn't get any papers delivered to the entire area. So I missed the P&G insert. That is going to hurt as those are some of my favorite coupons. Oh well I will just pretend I am starting from scratch. I only have one thing I need now and it is filler paper for the kids. The back to school sales have been dismal this year! Hopefully Staples will honor it's online ad or I may lose my cool. This has been a weird few months with stores ads. Have a good day all!

Hey everyone,
I think I will be finally out of the RA game this week. Checked the fliers and there is nothing that makes me want to go to the store. I have 2 Ups and Honey Nut cheerios are on sale. I have coupons for 1$ off and I will be buying that and wait until there is a great MM to step back in. I have not gone to Wags in a while , so will be holding on to some ECBs at CVS and that's it for now.
If anyone has any recommendations on good refrigerators, please let me know. I am looking for stainless steel, 2 door, bottom freezer type ones. Thanks

Welcome back PudgyBunny!
973BeachBum - Sorry you had to evacuate and deal with the cleanup when you got back.
Gals, I'm in the process of moving. This is really awesome. We will be homeowners again! So, I'm pretty busy, but I'm still sneaking in hounding trips in between my other stuff. And still trying to pop in and write if I see such a fabulous deal that I don't want you all to miss!
As SaveinLA and Skubikky referenced, the RA deals are slim pickings. I bought Mitchum this week, but will be buying nothing next week. I'm holding my lone (1) $2UP for the week of 9/11 at RA when I'll pick up some Pantene. Wags has been really good to me of late - got a lovely haul of Revlon nail polish free in the past couple weeks, turned that into more RR's with free Dove soap, and this week have been buying the Carmex, Crayola crayons and Estroven. I'll probably end up cashing out of Wags shortly to get some things we need that should be on sale.

HOUND ALERT Carefree pantiliners .50 off1 from 8/21 SS and Skintimate Shaving Cream $1 coupon (7/24 SS) For the sale starting this Sun Sept 3rd at CVS. the Carefree will be on sale for $1 and will give a $1 ECB making them a .50 profit after coupon with a limit of 1. Skintimate Shving cream is on sale at CVS for $1.99. After the $1 off coupon it would cost $1 each. This is the best deal around her I have seen in a while on womens shave cream. And I have a teenage DD. I don't like to think of the amount of this type of stuff she goes through. And for the record I got my mailer today with the Red Plum outside sheet and glossy ad pages in but no coupon insert again!

At this point, the only coupon that I got excited about in that insert was the one for Dawn Renewal. So PLEASE don't be shy and let us know what you need. That's what we're here for. ;D

If anyone has a Kroger nearby, they're having a really good P&G sale - $4/4 off various Old Spice and Arm & Hammer products (and quite a few others). Ended up getting a ton of the full-sized Old Spice deodorants for $0.99 apiece and the body wash for $1.50. Dial liquid soap and the 2-bar packages are still $0.88 apiece.

Hi everyone. I've been out of the loop lately as I've been busy getting ready for school to start. I'm glad everyone is ok from the hurricane.
Dancin: I've been enjoying reading your comments on YM.
Leanna: Good analogy about diets!
Constanz: I hope you're feeling better.
Saveinla: I have $4.00 in UPs to spend and it's getting hard to find anything to inspire me to set foot in Rite Aid.
Pubbler: Where are you? I miss talking Meijer deals with you.
A couple of weeks ago I posted about hp tablets being clearanced. I got 2 of them for Christmas presents for my sons so that and the cheap Scott TP at Kmart was my best hounding deals to date.
Rite Aid question: Does anyone know how they figure how much you have towards the 20% Wellness level? My total shows up as $859.00, but my calculations are way higher.

I was hoping I'd get to gold this year, but maybe not. Seems like I buy a lot of things, and my points don't go up.

I had a frustrating trip to Safeway today. I went to one that I don't shop at much, wanting to check the place out for coupons ( ), and to pick up some more frozen items. I was buying four frozen items, had four IP coupons, and the checker wouldn't accept them. She said they had had a memo from corporate over a year ago saying they could not accept more than one IP per person. Not one per item, not one per type, but ONE period. Of course, I told her I didn't want the items and took them back to the freezer, but I was flabbergasted. She was nice and was just doing what she was told. She said the manager had come around to each of them this morning to remind them about the policy. Has anybody else heard such a thing?

DebinWa,
Sorry to hear about your lousy Sfway trip. I've heard from other people that Safeway's in OR and WA are getting very picky about coupons. Some refuse all IP's, some refuse any IP's that are for free items, and some won't double IP's.
So, I think what you heard is probably, unfortunately true. I think though, that different Safeway's do things differently, and also some cashiers are more coupon friendly than others.

debinwa,
My store has a policy of limit of 2 like coupons per transaction, but not one IP per person. You will not get any results from SW corporate, so you just have to shop a friendlier store.

What would stop someone from going through the line however many number of times that they needed to to use more than one IP? I understand that doesn't work for your particular transaction, but still. For that reason, it just doesn't make sense. Either accept them or don't. I haven't had this problem yet at my Safeway, but I can't remember the last time I used an IP there. I guess time will tell.

I calculated my points only based on my coupons used, since most of my cost if not all was tax. I am already at gold level for this year and so it's not a big deal to back off for a while.

Sadly, Safeways in western Washington other than the Olympia area don't double coupons, but I have never had a problem with them taking any of my IP's. Their policy says they won't take IP's for free items, but that they will gladly take other IP's, following the same rules as other manufacturer's coupons. I don't believe taking one coupon is really in compliance with the intent of the policy, so I think I will send a little email to their corporate office. The cashier was trying to be as nice as she could, so I don't think it was just her. I think the manager may have either misunderstood the policy, or decided he's going to do his own thing. I'm not big on that when their corporate office has issued a policy. I'll let you know if I get a response back.

Debinwa, I had a similar issue with SW here in Maryland about 2 years ago. I called customer service at corporate twice, they spoke with the store manager, and the problem was no more. So I'm happy now, fwiw. Hope you have similar results.
