The moneylenders in the Temple were the only recorded recipients of the violent wrath of Jesus, according to scriptural record. That's why greed, exploitation and profiteering being championed by those who make public displays of their (allegedly "Christian") personal "sanctity"... is not only blatantly contradictory and hypocritical... it is absurd. As for "Politics and the Markets"... global political conflicts and economic vaccilations are predicated upon friction between various "One True Faith" ideologies. To ignore these factors and to forbid discussion of them on a "Politics and the Markets" forum is foolishness. Granted, I, for one, do not want every thread to be hijacked by "missionaries" and "evangelicals" seeking "converts"... just as I am loath to see every thread usurped by chitchat about "critterbabies". Discussion of "Politics and the Markets" that excludes any reference to religion and religious conflict... is like discussion of weather while forbidding reference to temperature or precipitation.
