could probably take out the first ten with my bare hands before I got tired and had to start shooting them. "
You must be greasing the mods' palms. Last time I mentioned shooting people, I was harshly reprimanded. Will $5 CDN suffice? $10?

Tea Party Nation CEO Judson Phillips - would you call for his resignation as a representative of your party? DDT - really? I was unaware Tea Party Nation was "my party".

But more to the point you're making- there's room on my side of the political spectrum to dial the rhetoric back. I don't think any reasonable person would deny that. My point in this thread is that we've got one of the world's cities basically on fire as the left, that foments this stuff, silently (and not-so-silently) cheers.
The left gets a pass. The right doesn't. This actually applies to a lot of things, and it could help explain why the right has all the intellectual firepower. We've HAD to articulate ideas, and substantiate them. The left says whatever and there are far too many people on the left that just accept it as fact.

Who exactly is the "far left" pbp keeps referring to? Name some names please and why are they "far left" and how are they responsible for the London riots.

if you seriously think our guns are a match for their tanks, you are bonkers. I'm referring to the rioters. The rioters do not have tanks. Hell, most of the rioters probably don't even know how to fight- could probably take out the first ten with my bare hands before I got tired and had to start shooting them. My hero. *Swoons*

PalmPaul declared: "With respect to the second statement- I think it is inappropriate to compare protesters of any kind to NAZIs. " Ridiculous. Conventional wisdom supports the cliché "If it walks like a duck and it quacks like a duck, it's a duck." Obligatory salutes, lavish displays of slavish admiration for the leadership (goose-stepping) and ruthless bullying of non-partisans are all hallmarks of a special kind of person... a kind that should NOT be ignored. Mandating the exclusion of any references or comparisons to that party from political discussions is not only disingenuous, it is preposterous... forbidding all but indirect references to [shudder] "he who shall not be named" is a cheap trick that benefits the neo-nazi movement. I want no part of the convention.

Funny, reading all the supposedly anti-authoritarian "Tea Party" dribble posted by various members of this message board... I'd say the London rioting is rooted in the same spirit of "rebellion" against "oppression". A small faction is expressing their outrage at their "nanny state" and hoping to alter and abolish it, through violence and terrorism, if they choose.

I hope that they send police with riot control gas, helmets, truncheons and shields to protect these people. The homeowner who put out that flyer is quite naive and has no idea how dangerous his situation is. During the 1956 Hungarian Revolution and the 1968 Prague Spring, molotov-cocktail heaving rioters took out Russian Tanks. until the tanks started shooting back..

If you think you can "take the first ten out with your bare hands" reference what happened in Northern Ireland. I'm sure after "Bloody Sunday" the orangemen thought about the same. As have many, no doubt, who thought they could handle "the first ten" of a mob with their "bare hands".

It's starting again. Riots against business owners, and others percieved as "rich" in London tonight. This didn't come out of nowhere. The left has deliberately ginned this up, and they are silently rejoicing and no doubt the left here-- and many of you on these boards-- would love to see the riots happen here. many = how many? zero? one? two?

Paul doesn't need a gun. just a favorable net worth, and a few connections.

I'd hazard a guess there is not one person on these boards who is "cheering" over what's going on in London, or any other city where violence reigns supreme. Your rhetoric, I'm afraid, is outrunning your logic by a country mile!

No clue here, dj. I have no idea why anyone would make such a comment. It's downright ludicrous.
I can imagine negotiating with the Chinese isn't much fun. Are you doing it in English, or Mandarin? ;D

You're rhetoric, I'm afraid, is outrunning your logic by a country mile! I've noticed that posters who create the most threads usually are prone to "dumbest statements I've read from anyone here in quite some time" syndrome. Very few people feel driven to "create" a half-dozen and more threads per day... unless they've got loose screws.

Silently rejoicing? You're delusional.

Wasn't it all the Tea Partiers that said over and over again that it was "time for a revolution" and yacked over and over how they would do whatever it took, even violence if that's what it meant for them to "take the country back" ? Guess they are only into violence when they are the ones calling for it.....go figure....lol
