House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) will demand a seat in the table for the final talks on the national debt limit, putting a strong liberal voice in the room. Pelosi and House Democrats were left out of the negotiations between President Obama and Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) last year that extended nearly all of the Bush tax rates though 2012. Pelosi didn’t participate in the final high-level talks over fiscal 2011 spending levels either. But now she’s demanding her say at a time when many of her House Democratic colleagues are disappointed in Obama’s level of consultation with their caucus. “If they don’t have the votes, House Democrats have to be at the table,” said a House Democratic leadership aide. thehill.com/homenews/house/168467-pelosi-demands-a-seat-at-the-table-in-final-debt-ceiling-talks

But I bet Ms Pelosi will not want Mr Boehner to attend since she and John may not be on speaking terms according to my unreliable sources on the Hill
And Ms Pelosi doesn't play golf...

House Democrats are growing increasingly frustrated with Obama over what they see as his unwillingness to take a stand against Republicans on taxes and proposed cuts to Medicare. They also grumble that his infrequent outreach to their caucus is a sign of political naivety.
Their suspicions about a brewing debt-limit deal were raised last month when Vice President Biden said cuts to Medicare were on the table. Meanwhile, the GOP negotiators, Senate Republican Whip Jon Kyl (Ariz.) and House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (Va.) insisted tax increases were off the table.
Several House Democrats made their displeasure known when the caucus met with the president at the White House earlier this month. Lawmakers emerged from the meeting determined their party should not capitulate to Republicans on taxes and Medicare cuts.
House Democrats are skeptical over Obama’s willingness to take a hard-line in the end-stage talks, especially after how negotiations of the Bush tax rates played out last year.
They felt jammed by Obama and Republican leaders when forced in December to vote on a package extending major tax cuts for the nation’s wealthiest families. Their anger over that deal has only intensified after Republicans have used the budget deficit as a justification to chop spending social programs across the board, including Medicare.
As with the package of spending cuts in April, Democrats were given a last-minute ultimatum: pass a two-year extension of the Bush tax cuts and a one-year extension of unemployment benefits or take the blame for allowing tax rates, including those for the middle class, to rise.
Pelosi is the strongest liberal voice in the Democratic leadership. She kept her position as Democratic leader in November after Democrats lost the House in a landslide by promising her caucus’s large liberal wing that she would fight for their priorities. The debt-limit talks are her chance to make good on that pledge

Good heavens, it's like I always said, he thought he could magic the job. Had no idea what he was getting into. Everything else had always just worked out somehow. My guess is affirmative action opened doors and eased the way. I've seen it in action.
But once in office it must have been for Obama like that ubiquitous nightmare where you find yourself at work and you don't have the slightest idea what you are supposed to be doing.

Good. Surely you cannot be serious??? Having Pelosi attend the debt reduction meeting next week in the White House would be liked having a skunk at an outdoor dinner party and barbecue...she will only stink up the place.. and that is being kind to Ms Pelosi

What makes you think I believe any stupid lying pub gossip about Ms Pelosi?? She represents San Francisco and she is in the news out here 24/7..and most of the news coverage for Ms Pelosi is not toooooooooo faltering.. Her biggest critic is Willy Brown her ex friend and mentor and he has written some scattering articles about Pelosi..basically she is too partisan and impossible to work with if you are not a liberal...to her being a conservative is the same as being a criminal on death row...she doesn't want anything to do with them

In Picture in #10....FYI
Not really Rahm Emanuel whispered into Pelosi's ear "Nancy excuse me but did you just fart?" and she laughs and says " Yes Rahm can you deal with it?"......

Pelosi could not get a deal done on the 2010 budget. What makes anyone think she in her reduced capacity can do it now. There are more than a few Democrats that are now not enamored by her.

It's all fuel to fire. Obama makes the Dems look bad, so does Pelosi. There's a dead skunk tied around their necks, but they are too stupid to realize that. They still think it's dinner...

You're going to be hilarious after Obama gets kicked out next year... Ed FYI.........It is not too hilarious now without any leadership by Obama. I believe Obama's weakness is an embarrassment to this great nation that some risked their lives to defend, and are now sadden to see what it has become since 15 January 2009...one of our worse days in our nations' proud history....IMHO

They thought if they could just get in a position of power to try out their liberal ideas the country would sail to victory. They got their power, worked their magic, and it is failing miserably. War, it's pretty funny watching you accuse PI of being a pubdupe or whatever your current word is. You do realize he is not a Republican, don't you?

Everyone knows huge cuts are coming. Dems just can't figure out a way to make them the Republican's "fault." THAT is the hold-up. If they can find a way to make the cuts and come out smelling good to their liberal base they will make the cuts. Republican heads will roll if the debt limit is raised without cuts.

You do realize he is not a Republican, don't you? if failing miserably means doing about the same as Bush did in his first term, then yes. he has failed miserably. so, given that both teams have failed, why should people vote Republican?

Ok djlungrot.....Obama has a low approval rating with only 1 1/2 years left for him to turn it around, Obama is vulnerable because of the economy and foreign policies, and he has to show leadership to overcome these vulnerabilities in a year and a half...
If you think about these issues, it just may be not achievable if his history is an indicato or a forecast for the year and half remaining in his presidency.. You have to be more than a good telepromter reader to accomplish all of these tasks in that period of time, and Obama may not be able to come even close..
