Most economists , the non bought off ones, disagree. It's all a huge crisis when Dems get in, no compromise is possible. Sounds like Nazis to me- Pubs want crisis and chaos. And Pubs have blocked EVERYTHING since Scott Brown, Dec. 2010- so this is theirs more than Obama's...a-**** ;D Actually, the majority of eocnomists are in agreement that some stimulative spending is warranted during a financial downturn-- some-- but they also agree that you CUT TAXES, not raise them.

Until the last day, everything is posturing. It's only because of Geithner's lala land interpretation of when the debt limit is reached that this hasn't already been resolved.
It will all be negotiated at the 11th hour amongst much vitriol and hypertension. To think otherwise is to be a pollyanna. Everything before then is just meaningless crap meant to stir up the easily manipulated folks among us. That sure has worked!

Where's the leadership from the Leaders in the House? The Republicans just walked out of the talks. Obama can lead, but the Republicans have to at least negotiate in good faith. The art of politics is compromise, and the Republican leadership is apparently lacking in talent. The same leadership that the democrats showed from Minnesota? either they are both genius or both idiots I say.

The art of politics is compromise, Wasn't one of the campaign promises of the tea party candidates that they would not negotiate? Everyone seems to be forgetting this. They want everything their own way. Actually, compromising takes reasonable and intelligent people which there are very few in politics.

Why do anything so pedestrian as put numbers on a paper. The geniuses in this administration don't like to leave a paper trail.

Did you notice, Dem, the Dems had control of things before last November?I did, and did you notice that they passed a significant health care reform plan? No. I see they passed a reform package dealing with health insurance. When did they pass anything reforming health care?

Actually, compromising takes reasonable and intelligent people which there are very few in politics. Compromise has gotten us a $14.5 trillion dollar deficit and $114 trillion in unfunded liabilities. We need a concrete wall, not compromise.
