He came to my town. About 60% old hippies in the audience, 30% students. They all treated him like a rock star. He's dangerous because he charms young people into hating their country.

I did! That and the vsilver are the only ones I like. But I find them all distracting. I sort of like that dark blue bubbles too but I think I'd go blind. Have you looked around at some of the proboards. There are some pretty amazing skins people have come up with. You can google popular proboards or like that and you'll get lists. They can get extremely fancy.

Is there any truth in his accusations here, or is it just more Van Jones fluf that sells to the right people? By "right paople" I mean the kind that vote against the establishment no matter what, like they did in 2008? This is from Wikipedia: Jones advocates a combination of conservation, regulation and investment as a way of encouraging environmental justice and opposing environmental racism. In an interview for the "EON Deep Democracy Interview Series" Jones spoke of a "third wave of environmentalism"
[The first wave is sort of the Teddy Roosevelt, conservation era which had its day and then, in 1963, Rachel Carson writes a book, Silent Spring, and she's talking about toxics and the environment, and that really kind of opens up a whole new wave. So it's no longer just conservation but it's conservation, plus regulation, trying to regulate the bad, and that wave kind of continued to be developed and got kind of a 2.5 upgrade because of the environmental justice community who said, "Wait a minute, you're regulating but you're not regulating equally, the white polluters and white environmentalists are essentially steering poison into the people-of-color communities, because they don't have a racial justice frame." ... Now there's something new that's beginning to gather momentum, and it's conservation plus regulation of the bad, plus investment in the good ... beginning to put money into the solutions as well as trying to regulate the problem. Who, or what, is the "environmental justice communty"?

Yes, he is dangerous to a certain element, but to the patriotic college educated productive youth, they will not be enticed. He is loud, overly aggressive and his command of the English language has a lot to be desired. Very similar to the rantings of Wright, or the likes of a Louis Farraghan who have their own sect of followers and are more of an annoyance. I doubt if he'll influence many, he's just another agitator. IMO

"Tell me who your friends are and I'll tell you who you are" and by golly Obama sure falls flat in that category. Tony Resko was my friend. Wright was my mentor. Bill Ayres was my friend and the list of czarsand others goes on. The best one was Anita Dunn, then the WH Communcations Director saying in a speech that she turned to Mao Tse Tung and Mother Theresa for her inspiration. I guess after Beck played that she was fired. Ha...I sound like Hannity...lol...it is true though...

Apparently it's Van Jones, his former employer Barack Obama, and the three or four other idiots dumb enough to be duped by his line of BS...

I wonder if the people in San Francisco who want to outlaw guppies and goldfish might be part of the "environmental justice community." Though, then again, maybe they are the "fish justice community."

Beck has the Blaze, and is starting his own TV station-- like Oprah, you know?? He's not going anywhere.. Sorry.. don't apologize. he will be much easier to ignore when he is not on the #1 news network. that is good enough for me. if he wants to squalk away out on the talk radio fringe, that is fine by me.

The old possible lawsuit ploy. All he wants is them to pay him some money to go away. Don't think a lawsuit is anything he really wants. he will have to much explaining to do.

Bye Beck- we won't miss ya!! ;D Oh, don't worry Warsaw, we still have Hannity and why shouldn't the left be exposed for what it is? Well, not to the extent that Weiner was of course....lol. I bought the book "Common Sense" and where I live people were asking me to borrow it, as I know it's hard for you to believe, but some people did enjoy his show. I didn't watch every show, but some of them were quite good and his guests quite informative.

Perfect example of reverse-racism. Oh, please, "we love everybody". You mean except Fox News that has you pegged, specifically Glenn Beck. Get over yourself, Van Jones. For a minute I thought I was listening to Reverend Wright., oh brotha.... there is no such thing as reverse racism. there is only racism. there is racism against whites. there is racism against blacks. racism is not practiced by only one race. to claim that there is such a thing as reverse racism implies otherwise.

Sure- he's a communist. Nice character assassination. And Soros too, of course. Beck would say anything for a buck...
"Anybody who believes anything I say is an idiot." Glenn Beck, 2009 ;D

Funny, before I wrote it I googled it, and the definition refers to discrimination of whites, usually in the form of programs meant to advance ethnic minorities such as affirmative action. As I read more definitions, I may tend to agree with you, It just came to mind at the time and the more I read, the more confusing it is.

Who said the only people keeping Jones in the media is Fox?? www.theblaze.com/stories/afl-cio-union-chief-pledges-12-million-workers-to-van-jones-progressive-tea-party/AFL-CIO UNION CHIEF PLEDGES 12 MILLION WORKERS TO VAN JONES PROGRESSIVE TEA PARTY Posted on June 24, 2011 Well, according to AFL-CIO president Rich Trumka, only the American “labor movement” is all about the “real” American Dream. I guess that means the rest of us haven’t got a clue. Opening with Van Jones’ “American Dream” mantra, Trumka announced his pledge of 12 million union laborers and their families to support Van Jones’ “Rebuild the Dream” movement. Trumka then goes on to explain that the real American Dream is not about a few of us having a lot, but about all of us having a “fair portion.” “The American Dream is not that a few of us will get to be rich, but that all of us will have a fair portion of the good things in life.” Trumka’s announcement coincides with the launch of a Van Jones co-sponsored MoveOn.org campaign titled “Rebuild the Dream.” The Blaze recently reported on the campaign and its new catch-phrase already catching on among leftists like Howard Dean. The movement, which accuses the “slash and burn” GOP of “killing the American dream,” has positioned itself as the left’s answer to the Tea Party. During Rebuild the Dream’s launch event Thursday, Jones exclaimed to a crowd of followers that “America is not broke” — even encouraging the audience to chant the phrase in unison — and claimed those who suggest otherwise, are “lying.” He also accused people — presumably Tea Party members – who “hate on America’s government“ and ”wreck America’s infrastructure” — of being unpatriotic. Of course Jones also didn’t fail to misrepresent a GOP platform when he suggested conservatives lie to the American public and lead them to believe that “asking the super-rich to pay taxes hurts America’s economy.” This statement is disingenuous of course, as it implies conservatives suggest high-income earners shouldn’t pay taxes at all. In addition, Jones seems to deceive by omission when he fails to specify who his “super-rich” actually are — then appears to lump small business owners, large corporations, and the individually wealthy into the same category. But perhaps the best, most ironic moment of the evening came when Jones, aiming to sound like Newt Gingrich, announced his “Contract for the American Dream,” which will come to fruition in mid-July. The “contract,” Jones claims, will be an aggregated list of ideas and suggestions he receives from people across the country, on how to “rebuild the American dream.” With the help of friends like MoveOn, SEIU, Campaign for America’s Future and AFL-CIO, Jones plans to “build a movement that stands for liberty and justice for all.” The video below features highlights of Van Jones’ Rebuild the Dream launch event: So first we had “hope and change” and “yes we can,” and now it’s “rebuild the American dream.” Platitudes and catch-phrases seem to come easily to the left, but what about substance?
