I am playing nice. Were it anyone else but you, I'd have reamed them a new one for suggesting that they know what I believe without my having said so. Let's not talk about all issues at once. Instead, let's focus on the price of oil that you raised. No, I do not believe there is a world conspiracy which controls the price of oil. Neither do I believe that Bush II manipulated the price of oil while in office to benefit 'his friends' in the oil business. Certainly there are people who constantly try to control oil prices. We call them "OPEC". Sometimes they are quite successful. I'm sure others have tried, but whatever methods they are using are pretty lousy if you look at the history of oil prices. People only get excited about manipulation of oil prices when prices are high. When they are low, and companies like Exxon, BP, and Chevron are in the shitter, nobody pays any attention to it at all. But let the price go up and you have braindead legislators howling about windfall profits and 'let's tax the uberrich' and 'why is Alaska oil going to Japan?'. The result is Congress holds some hearings in which oil company execs are accused of everything except buggery. The pols get their TV soundbites for the elections and everybody goes back to what they were doing before. People on message boards yak the same old crap they yakked about when last oil prices were high. Then oil prices return to a more normal level and all these ADHD types start up about somebody's weener. Wait a few years and the cycle will return. Clear enough?

No matter who is invited, or what goes on in their meetings, or how secret those meetings are (they aren't that secret- you can find out in short order who is invited), everything they cook up has to pass muster with "We The People".

Did you read my Bilderberg thread last week, Paul, about the meeting this year? A whose who of media and especially internet. I posted links to the last several year's attendance meetings, also. I have this idea that WE THE PEOPLE (voting public in general) are so gullible, so easily manipulated, that when power people AND financial people AND media have secret meetings it makes me a bit uneasy.. Ever since Obama and Hillary snuck away from press.. remember.. left them on a plane that flew away with them (the press) in it, then snuck off to the Bilderberg meeting in '08... then Hil is out, Obama in, (HOW? ) then Hil SOS, soon rumored to lead Citibank or something.. I don't know.. I have nothing better to do, so may as well watch and see what happens with all the players of Bilderberg.. the unofficial lists are pretty interesting...like the new IMF lady was supposed to go this year, not on the official list, but would not admit she was going.. no comment from her staff.... all pretty interesting.. (Funny thing-- last week a story broke about Google and Obama and money..... all denied.. right after Google went to Bilderberg.)
